CAPTIVE MANAGEMENT

PAGE 5: HUMIDITY

Relative humidity requirements should be the same (80 %+) and kept at a constant. This is especially important during the shed cycle. Be sure to provide fresh water and spray or moisten the cage as often as possible during the shed cycle. Follow all of the water suggestions mentioned above in the wild-caught section. While most keepers do not provide fresh water everyday to their collections I suggest trying this procedure with the Boelen’s Python. Going the extra mile with this species can only improve your success.

Boelen’s Pythons drink a lot of water. It is not uncommon to see them drink off of
the floor of the cage when it is moistened with fresh water.

Regular sprayings help keep Boelen’s Pythons well hydrated, they will drink water droplets off of everything.
This is another good reason for keeping cages as clean as possible.

I thought this was a very parculiar method to get a shed started, this particular Boelen's Python always does odd twists and turns.
